# OSH checklist for work schedule reorganization

Educational decision aid, not a mandatory regulatory checklist. Adapt to Brazilian GRO/PGR, NR-1, NR-17 and applicable activity-specific rules. Status checked October 15, 2026: approved, awaiting promulgation. The approved text counts transition from publication of the future amendment; do not assume commencement.

| Topic | Verification question | Suggested evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Actual hours | Do records capture actual work, including overtime? | Rosters, time records and shift samples |
| Recovery | Are breaks and intervals appropriate to tasks and applicable law? | Break plan and field observations |
| Critical safety | Are machinery, electrical, driving and emergency tasks covered? | Critical-task map and staffing by shift |
| Intensification | Did fewer working days create unachievable targets or pace? | Interviews, workload and near-miss records |
| Night work | Do changes increase night rotation or unpredictability? | Shift calendar and change frequency |
| Heat and physical workload | Does the arrangement increase heat, repetition or physical fatigue? | Preliminary ergonomic assessment and exposure observations |
| Participation | Did workers contribute information about recovery barriers? | Aggregated consultation records |
| Effectiveness | Are criteria and a date set for reassessment? | Action plan and before/after indicators |
| Privacy | Are personal sleep/health data handled confidentially? | Controlled access and aggregation procedure |
| Legal basis | Are the final published text and specific regimes checked? | Legal and HR review |

Meeting legal hours when applicable does not by itself demonstrate risk reduction. Evaluate tasks, resources, exposure and evidence after implementation.
